I am Joshua, a graduate from the University of Bath, with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I love teaching and am passionate about coaching students in the sciences (biology chemistry, physics) and mathematics. With a strong track record of tutoring students: a language mentor at university, ex-youth mentor in a uniform body and A-Levels tutoring experience, I strive to encourage my students in a positive academic spirit in and out of classes through consistent and focused learning.

More than learning the syllabus.
Students need to understand how things work. A concrete understanding of concepts, how to apply them under pressure and how examiners then test that understanding.
My approach combines quickly establishing a solid understanding of principles alongside structured exam pratice, detailed feedback and focusing exam preparation from the very start. Specific feedback and action for the week after each lesson forms the backbone of my style.

Every student genuinely has the potential to excel. Many lament they are 'just not cut out to do well in GCSE Math or a specific subject'. At the end of the day, in dad's own encouraging words, "genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration". I aim to understand each student's personal strength and weaknesses in learning and growing with them, so they will improve tremendously. Far beyond their current level.
